Usaha Parlimen Malaysia menerbitkan Parlimen 50 Tahun, buku yang memperingati ulang tahun Parlimen ke-50 pada 2010, amat disanjungi. Tetapi kandungannya mengelirukan fakta sejarah dan semangat demokrasi berparlimen. Cetakannya juga tidak kemas — untuk sesuatu yang sepatutnya menjadi dokumen rasmi yang bersejarah.
Buku ini (yang diedarkan kepada senator-senator dan wakil rakyat di Parlimen, serta agensi kerajaan) menghuraikan latar belakang sejarah penubuhan Dewan Rakyat dan Dewan Negara, di samping institusi perundangan (yang wujud lebih awal sebelumnya), sebagai pencapaian yang amat signifikan dalam evolusi sistem demokrasi berparlimen di negara kita — tetapi fakta-fakta biasa dan tidak rumit tidak dilampirkan.
